Teaching Differently: Enhancing Equal Access to University Education

The First Learning Cycle entitled:

“Teaching Differently: Enhancing Equal Access to University Education”,
which was addressed to the teaching staff of Democritus University of Thrace, was successfully completed.
The action was implemented by the Equal Access Unit (EAU), in collaboration with the Psychological & Counseling Support Center (KEPSYSY) and the Teaching & Learning Support Center (KEDIMA) of D.U.Th., with the aim of strengthening inclusion and accessibility in higher education.
The cycle took place on April 2 & 3, 2026, remotely via the Microsoft Teams platform.
It included two training meetings:
1st Meeting – Thursday, April 2 (18:00–19:30)
Topic: Equal access & inclusive teaching
• The pedagogical, institutional and administrative framework was presented
• The role of D.U.Th. support structures was highlighted
• A discussion followed with the participation of the attendees
2nd Meeting – Friday, April 3 (10:00–11:30)
Topic: Adjustments, assessment and management of real-life cases
• Management of requests and cooperation with support structures
• Applications in different learning environments
• Exchange of experiences and practices through discussion
The active participation and fruitful dialogue that developed confirm the importance of continuous training for teaching staff on issues of equality and inclusion.
